So in love

I didn't have to know Matt for very long before I knew that I had found a good man and I that I would want to hold on to him forever and never let him go. It has been a fleeting five years now since we got married and it has gone by so quickly, yet it seems like we have already done so many things together. I am so glad that I have him to share every part of my life with.
Happy Anniversary Love.

International Dinner

Our ward had an International Potluck dinner. It was a lot of fun. I thought I would post some pictures. Everyone brought an international dish and something for the display table. We brought Jamaican Curry Chicken and Rice and Peas. I would like to add that I thought the highlight of the whole thing was watching the Bishopric perform the Hula Dance for everyone.

Here is Matt trying to decide what to eat. I think he ended up with a little of everything.
Me and the kids at the table. Each table had a centerpiece from a different country.

Bubbles are enjoyed by all kids all over the world.

The kids got to decorate bags for putting candy in when they broke the pinata.

Kelsey's Princess Room

Some of you may know that for the last eight months I have been collecting stuff for Kelsey's princess room. Well, I have finally put it all together and here is the end result.

This is the view when you first walk in the room.

Close-up of the bed.

Above the closet.

Another angle of the room.

Close-up of the letters.

I also got a new dining table so now I can invite people over to eat. Anyone who has come to my house for dinner before knows what a pain it was to try and shove six to eight people around a four person table. Now all of our dining troubles are over.
One more thing happened this week. This one was not so good.
One little toddler bike...

Plus one little half step...

Equals one sad little boy.

How Ethan managed to go down the step and completely fly over the top of the bike and faceplant into the pavement is an act that only a little boy with a bigger head than body could possibly pull off.

Moved in and ready to blog again.

We moved into our house on the Thursday before last, and Ethan's birthday was the very next day. We didn't know anyone so we had a little party with just our little family. We went to Peter Piper Pizza, ate and played games, then came home for the cake and presents. Good thing Ethan is only two and won't really remember it. We will plan a big party next year. You are all invited so start saving your pennies. There are TONS and TONS of things to do here. We never feel bored. I will blog about these things at a later date. Just know that we are having fun but we also miss all of our friends.

Hospital Update

Saturday Kelsey was not feeling well and she was breathing really fast and it looked like it took a lot of effort to breath so that evening we took her to insta care. The Doctor there told us to take her to the emergency room at Primary Children's Hospital, so we did. She had a virus that caused her to have asthma problems and she is not getting enough oxygen. She seems to be improving in the daytime but drops back down at night, so we are not sure when we will be able to go home. It breaks my heart to see her hooked up to so many tubes and IVs but she has been really brave about everything. She now wants to be a Doctor when she grows up. I guess I better start saving for Medical School.

Mommy Kelsey

This morning Kelsey and I were hanging out on my bed waiting for Ethan to wake up so I took the time to probe into her little mind and find out here hopes and dreams for the future. Here is how the conversation went:

me- So Kelsey, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Kelsey- um, have a baby girl.

me- a baby girl? How about a baby boy?

Kelsey- baby girl, baby girl, baby girl.

me- ok, what are you going to name your baby girl?

Kelesy- Kelsey Sanders.

me- What about other names, like Penelope or Elizabeth.

Kelsey- Um (thinking), Curious George.

I have successfully created a mini me. It makes me feel happy that she wants to be a mommy and have a baby. It is such a joy to raise such a princess.

In January we got rid of our Beagle because we knew we were moving and we were not sure if we would live in a place with a fence or if we would be renting for a while. Even though he was a really good dog I was glad to have him gone because they really are such a responsibility. Well now I am already dog hungry again. Kelsey and Ethan LOVE dogs but the biggest reason I want one is because I am nervous about running once we move to Corpus Christi because crime is so high there and I thought that maybe if I get a big dog nobody will even try to mess with me. I am thinking about a german shepherd. What do ya'll think? Has anyone out there had a german shepherd before, and what are the advantages and disadvantages to having that kind of dog? I am just thinking that you'd have to be a complete idiot to mess with a girl running with a german shepherd.
